Existing support for Maury County entrepreneurs
Several organizations within Maury County are dedicated to helping small business owners make a living out of what they love to do.
Representing the whole county, the Maury County Chamber & Economic Alliance focuses on facilitating business growth and creating jobs through economic development efforts. These include programming for new residents and community leaders, networking events, ribbon cuttings and more.
The Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce offers similar services and resources to business owners on both the Maury and Williamson County sides of the city.
The Main Street Associations in Columbia and Mount Pleasant serve as the “heartbeat of the town” by working to promote economic vitality and preserve what’s distinctive about their respective communities. Much of this work includes historic preservation efforts, as well as improving infrastructure like signage and accessible parking to make a more enjoyable downtown experience.
In nearby Murfreesboro, small business owners can also find support from the region’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.

To see how supportive Maury County is of small business, visit Columbia’s downtown square on the first Friday of each month.
On First Fridays, retail shops stay open later, other businesses pop-up on the sidewalk, musicians play live sets and families enjoy activities and food. This local favorite goes to show how residents come together to support small business.
